About the role:
Location: Hybrid, Aberdeenshire
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful candidate will be required to undertake design engineering duties associated with the design, construction, certification and safe commissioning and operation of Motive’s equipment and procedures, both on- and offshore.
The Design Engineer will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently, while also knowing when to seek guidance and support. This role will involve working in a very fast-paced environment where quick and critical thinking is required whilst delivering high quality outputs. You will have daily interface with the wider team including Projects, Sales, Manufacturing, Operations and Equipment Management team.

- Certification of the equipment to current legislative standards.
- Action effective project management and closure procedures, including review and feedback meetings, to ensure lessons learned are fed throughout the business.
- Demonstrate capability in the necessary software/hardware applications required to complete these tasks.
- The preparation of equipment operation and project work packs that conform to Company and Client operational procedures.
- The inspection and testing of the integrity of Company/Client equipment and flexibles.
- The performance of miscellaneous engineering works on behalf of Clients, including preparing work procedures/job packs for Inspection, Repair & Maintenance and, as necessary, supervising and supporting offshore operations.
- The maintenance of engineering procedures, processes, data and records in accordance with the Integrated Management System.
- To ensure existing equipment designs, specifications and drawings are maintained and to manage necessary changes as required.
- The development and implementation of project procedures.
Required skills / knowledge:
- Degree or training in Engineering with relevant experience, or HNC/HND (preferably Mechanical or Structural) supported by significant experience.
- 2D drawing and 3D modelling, sufficient to support development of a full set of construction drawings.
- Competence in one or more applicable technologies (mechanics, fabrication, structures, welding, hydraulics, electrics, electronics).
- Mathematical modelling including FEM and associated technologies, with demonstrable experience in the use of ANSYS, and other FEA Softwares
- Design, project management and technical authorship capabilities consistent with developing quality equipment designs.
- Technical report writing using industry standard packages such as MS Office, MathCad

The Hydraulic Technician will inspect, repair, assemble and test hydraulic equipment as required in accordance with company procedures. They will undertake a variety of tasks that involve the manufacture and maintenance of hydraulic systems. The post holder will ensure products are manufactured efficiently, within the allocated delivery schedule as per operational planner and ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant Health and Safety guidelines.

The work you do ensures our Equipment runs safely and the key responsibilities you will have every day will see you become involved in some key projects for our clients. You will be supported by our Hydraulic Chargehand, and have a team of skilled Hydraulic Technicians working alongside you, whose goal, much like your own, will be to enable a quick and safe turn-around of equipment.

As an Equipment Operator, your role will be to commission and operate equipment in a competent and professional manner, communicating effectively with the client and Operations Department at all times.
The Equipment Operator will ensure products are operated efficiently, within the allocated scope of works and equipment operational limits. They will ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant HSEQ guidelines.
The work our Offshore team do is where everything we do, comes together. From the Manufacturing to Sales, Logistics to Finance, it all comes to fruition when you and your team are operating the equipment based on the project requirements. You’ll have responsibility of representing Motive with our clients globally, and ensuring we continue growing through the services we provide, and that’s a very important place to be.

You’ll be joining a hardworking and skilled team, who are used to working to high standards specifications of work. As part of our team of offshore Equipment Operators, you’ll be supported by our Personnel Logistics Manager and our projects for the UK & Europe.

- Commission equipment at worksite and perform load test operations as per the clients’ requirements, completing all necessary paperwork.
- Operate equipment as per clients’ instructions, ensuring all daily checks and paperwork are completed.
- Complete required onsite paperwork such as post installation checks & maintenance records.
- Complete Weekly Personnel Timesheet in full, with accurate times and descriptions including any observations, delays, damages, daily activities obtaining signed approval from the client.
- Demobilise equipment at the worksite and prepare for shipping, completing any necessary cargo manifests.
- Seek assistance from Company to trouble shoot equipment breakdowns, investigate and rectify
- Hand in project paperwork and expenses in a timely manner post project.
- Engage in any other reasonable activity as requested by Lead Equipment Operators / Management
Required skills / knowledge:
- Experience with flex lay equipment such as RDS, tensioners, and carousel systems, ensuring equipment is operated safely and efficiently within project specifications.
- Hydraulic experience and/or a Mechanical/Engineering Trade
- Must hold a valid offshore medical certificate in accordance with Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) requirements.
- Offshore certification Including OGUK survival or seamans health certificate.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise.

The Lead Offshore Technician will be responsible for commission and operation of equipment in a competent and professional manner, as well as being responsible for performing testing/maintenance/inspection scopes while always communicating effectively with the client and Operations Department. Sometimes these tasks will be handled alone, and sometimes the lead technician will be responsible for coordinating teams of technicians.
The Lead Offshore Technician will ensure products are operated efficiently, within the allocated scope of works and equipment operational limits. They will ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant HSEQ guidelines. Responsible for the completion of and processing of mobilisation /demobilisation paperwork also
You’ll join the growing Motive team in Stavanger, where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your technical skills across onshore and offshore operations while contributing to the continued expansion of the business. In return, you’ll be part of a supportive global organisation that recognises hard work and prioritises safety and quality.

You’ll be joining our Motive team, who are mainly based in Stavanger. Over the past few years, this team has grown significantly as Motive continues to expand, and our intention is to continue this. You’ll be working alongside an operations team that strive for high quality service of work.

- Conduct subsea testing operations, including setup, monitoring, and execution of subsea equipment testing activities in line with project specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare, install, operate, and demobilise equipment on-site, ensuring all checks, maintenance, and operational procedures are completed.
- Mobilisation of all rental fleet equipment in accordance with the Rental Equipment Mobilisation and Demobilisation procedure.
- Demobilising of all off hire equipment returning to onshore in accordance with the Rental Equipment Mobilisation and Demobilisation procedure.
- Upkeep of and completion of demobilisation paperwork including the recording of missing or damaged equipment.
- Complete and maintain accurate documentation, including service/maintenance records, cargo manifests, timesheets, and project paperwork, ensuring all records are uploaded to company systems.
- Conduct stock checks at worksites, reporting and communicating any discrepancies or damage to the client and company.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, liaising with the company where required to investigate and resolve faults.
- Undertaking required repairs, alterations or maintenance of equipment on site.
- Testing of equipment including flow / pressure testing hydraulic systems and flushing
- Communicate effectively with the Project Manager, team members, and clients, including participation in project briefings, debriefings, inductions, and FAT processes (onshore/offshore as required).
- Complete required training (internal, external, and client-specific) and comply with all safety and operational procedures, including HIRA requirements.
- Submit all project documentation and expenses in a timely manner following project completion.
- Ability to read, understand and disseminate technical drawings and converse with the technical requirements of the task in hand.

Reporting to our APAC Regional Manager, the Technical Sales Manager for APAC plays a critical role in achieving the Motive Offshore Group’s business objectives within the APAC Region. The role involves managing technical sales activities, generating and qualifying leads, and ensuring customer satisfaction in line with the company’s Quality Management System. The role is integral to promoting Motive's People Values and embedding sustainable practices throughout all activities.

As Lead Equipment Operator, your role will be to commission and operate equipment in a competent and professional manner, while providing day-to-day leadership, supervision and technical guidance to Equipment Operators on site. You will collaborate with project managers and offshore/onshore teams to plan equipment mobilisation and utilisation requirements ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
You will be the lead technical focal point for the project you are on-site for, which will include carrying out equipment inspections, fault-finding, diagnostics, preventative maintenance and first-line repairs to ensure effective equipment reliability and operational readiness. You will be assisting with complex equipment issues, mentoring members of staff, working closely with the client to ensure project efficiency & safety, all while supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance, safety and operational efficiency.
The role requires accurate completion of maintenance records, technical reports and operational documentation, as well as ensuring compliance with company procedures, manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
The work our Offshore team do is where everything we do, comes together. From the Manufacturing to Sales, Logistics to Finance, it all comes to fruition when you and your team are operating the equipment based on the project requirements. You’ll be the one responsible for the safe & efficient use of our equipment, and as Lead Operator, both your team, clients and subcontractors will look to you for support, guidance and expertise.

- Commission equipment at worksite and perform load test operations as per the clients’ requirements, completing all necessary paperwork.
- Operate equipment as per clients’ instructions, ensuring all daily checks and paperwork are completed.
- Complete required onsite paperwork such as post installation checks & maintenance records.
- Complete DCSR sheets in full, with accurate times and descriptions including any observations, delays, damages, daily activities obtaining signed approval from the client.
- Demobilise equipment at the worksite and prepare for shipping, completing any necessary cargo manifests.
- Trouble shoot equipment breakdowns, investigate and rectify
- Hand in project paperwork and expenses in a timely manner post project.
- Engage in any other reasonable activity as requested by Management
- To attend project briefings & de-briefings.
- To attend client inductions/HIRA’s as and when required.
- To complete online client inductions and training as and when required.
- To participate in internal and external training courses where identified.

Required skills / knowledge:
- Extensive experience with flex lay equipment such as RDS, tensioners, and carousel systems, including leading operations, supervising personnel, and ensuring equipment is operated safely and efficiently within project specifications.
- Extensive experience leading offshore and onshore operations, supervising personnel, coordinating work scopes and ensuring equipment is operated safely and efficiently within project specifications.
- Hydraulic experience and/or a Mechanical/Engineering Trade
- Relevant years’ experience operating machinery in offshore industry
- Must hold a valid offshore medical certificate in accordance with Offshore Energies UK (OEUK) requirements.
- Offshore certification Including OGUK survival or seamans health certificate.
- Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to prioritise.

The HSEQ Advisor will provide Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality Management support to the Motive Offshore Group in all worldwide locations from which it operates.
The HSEQ Advisor will also assist the HSEQ department in ensuring that the company complies with all Health, Safety and Environmental legislation, ISO 9001, ISO45001 & ISO 14001 standards and all current or future other certification.

- Perform regular HSEQ inspections at both on-site and off-site locations.
- Support the maintenance of existing certifications and assist in transitioning to new certifications as required.
- Assist various operational locations in achieving and sustaining HSEQ certifications.
- Investigate non-conformances, incidents, and near misses, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions implemented.
- Provide HSEQ support to all Motive locations, including site-based project work when necessary.
- Travel on an ad hoc basis to support HSEQ activities across Motive’s operational locations.
- Manage the revision, control, and distribution of management system documentation.
- Create, update, and maintain HSEQ forms to ensure consistency and relevance.
- Prepare and distribute KPI reports to monitor HSEQ performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to organise and track planned preventative maintenance schedules.
- Partner with the Learning & Development (L&D) team to develop and deliver HSEQ training programs.
- Maintain and update the Non-Conformance and Action Tracking System to ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Stay informed about relevant legislation and industry standards, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Support other departments with bid proposals, completion of external provider evaluation questionnaires, and document control as required.
- Proactively reduce risks and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation through risk assessments, trend analysis, and effective communication.
- Conduct, review, and update risk assessments, COSHH assessments, and associated data sheets on an annual basis or as needed.
- Assist in fostering innovation and building a resilient infrastructure through identifying HSEQ excellence which may contribute to Product/Process improvement (Goal 9 (UN SDG))
Required skills / knowledge:
- NEBOSH advantageous but not essential
- Internal Auditor (9001 / 14001 / 45001) preferred but not essential
- Experience in Management Systems BS EN ISO 9001, BS EN ISO 14001 and BS EN ISO45001.
