Motive Offshore Group achieves F4OR Granted Status

03 APRIL 2023

Motive Offshore Group is delighted to receive confirmation of granted status from the Fit 4 Offshore Renewables (F4OR) programme, delivered by Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult.

F4 OR Taiwan Offshore Renewables

ORE Catapult is the UK’s leading technology innovation and research centre for offshore renewable energy. F4OR is a unique initiative aimed at maximising opportunities for UK organisations, through building a capable and competitive supply chain to fuel the growth and sustainability of the offshore renewable energy sector.

With a firm eye on accelerating its transition into the offshore renewables arena, and an ambitious target of generating 75% of revenue from renewables projects by 2025, Motive could immediately see the value of F4OR from a company perspective and the benefits it can offer businesses operating in offshore renewables.

F4OR launch

The F4OR programme launched by ORE Catapult in 2019 was developed in collaboration with the Nuclear AMRC and industry stakeholders.

Motive became aware of the venture early on, and in 2021 was one of 28 UK businesses selected to participate in ORE Catapult’s 12-month F4OR business improvement and supply chain growth programme, forming the North East Scotland cohort alongside 15 peers.

F4OR – the process

Motive’s F4OR granted status recognition follows a rigorous 18-month process assessing the ‘company-readiness’ to supply the fast-growing offshore wind sector.

As well as validating the necessary expertise, capability, and leadership is in place to act as a successful and valuable supplier, the programme plays an important ongoing supportive role, helping organisations identify how they can continually improve their approach.

While there are other programmes in the offshore industry, F4OR is unique in that it focuses specifically on offshore renewables, including offshore wind, wave, and tidal energy.

F4OR – an ongoing commitment

Supply chains form the backbone of any industry and initiatives such as F4OR ultimately contribute to ensuring operators in the offshore renewable sector have the specialist skills and knowledge at hand to deliver safe and effective projects.

With renewables a cornerstone of the Motive Offshore Group strategy, achieving Fit 4 Offshore Renewables (F4OR) granted status is an important milestone in our energy transition journey.

Aside from a demonstration of Motive’s expertise in the offshore renewables arena, achieving the F4OR status affirms our ongoing commitment to training and development to ensure we continue to deliver the best in sector-specific products and services.

We are delighted to receive F4OR granted status. This achievement is a tribute to Motive’s commitment to safety, sustainability, and excellence in the offshore renewables industry.
Motive remains dedicated to supporting the growth and development of this critical sector and looks forward to collaborating with other industry leaders to advance the future of offshore renewables.
