COP28: Motive join Scottish delegation in commitment to Net Zero

We are delighted to announce Motive has been invited by the Scottish Government to join the 'Team Scotland' delegation of 19 leading Net Zero-focused businesses visiting COP28 UAE in the United Arab Emirates from 30 November to 12 December 2023.

The COP28 delegation will be led by Scottish Government Ministers, and supported by partners the Scottish Chambers of Commerce (SCC) and Scottish Development International (SDI).
Helping showcase the country’s ambition and expertise in net zero solutions, Motive is honoured to represent Scotland on this superb occasion to share our resources, expertise, and ambition in the renewables sector.
Scotland led the world in 2019 as one of the first countries to declare a climate emergency, underlining its commitment to People and Planet with an ambitious target to reach net zero emissions by 2045.
With ESG a clear driver of Motive strategy and core values "People" and "Planet" firmly embedded in our company culture, we are excited to collaborate with like-minded companies during COP28, combining expertise to rise to the challenges of the journey to net zero.

In hosting COP 28, the UAE is showcasing its dedication to addressing global environmental challenges. This event demonstrates the country’s commitment to international efforts in combating climate change and promoting sustainable development, particularly relevant as the country transitions away from its reliance on oil and gas.
As a major producer and exporter of fossil fuels, the UAE recognises the need to diversify its economy and reduce dependency on finite resources. Hosting COP 28 provides an opportunity for local businesses to showcase their initiatives and projects aimed at transitioning to renewable energy, and helps enhance the UAE's image as a leader in green innovation and technology.
