Here is Neil's staff story:

Tell us a little bit of background on your work experience before joining Motive.

Following university, I was keen to explore different options within the energy sector. My first job involved being hands-on in a workshop as I looked to potentially retrain and go offshore. I really enjoyed this experience and learned plenty from it, which has aided me in my current role by helping me understand different points of view and the challenges others face. Shortly after this, I settled into my first project role, where I worked my way up and spent over 10+ years with the same company, gaining invaluable experience in the industry and in project management.

What are your key responsibilities at Motive?

I oversee the Projects, Personnel Logistics, and the Offshore Team, ensuring safe and timely project delivery.

What attracted you to work at Motive?

Motive had a strong reputation as an exciting and people-focused company to work for. I reached out to some friends who had worked for/engaged with Motive in the past, and they only spoke positively. This was evident straight away from the onboarding process and confirmed through my time here.

What does a typical day at Motive look like for you?

Supporting my team with any challenges and opportunities they may face. Reporting and forecasting the performance of all projects being executed by my team.

What do you enjoy most about your role at Motive?

One thing I love about being involved in the projects team is the exposure you get to all stakeholders in the company. You are a central point for all projects, and you really get to engage with every department.

What are your goals for your future at Motive?

To contribute to the further growth of Motive by building strong relationships with existing and new customers.

What is the best thing about being ‘Team Motive’?

Everyone pulls their weight and supports each other across the regions.

What's one 'insider tip' about Motive that you'd share with a new colleague?

Don’t be scared to challenge existing ways if you think improvements can be made.

What's one thing you appreciate most about your colleagues?

Everyone is dedicated to growing the success of Motive, and that starts with always offering a helping hand, which the team is great at.

Any piece of advice you've received that has really stuck with you?

You don’t need to be an expert on every subject. Contribute with your key strengths and the team around you with theirs, to achieve success together.

What would you say to anyone considering coming to work at Motive?

I doubt you’ll regret it!

If you could leave one lasting positive impact at Motive, what would it be?

To help Motive get to the next step, and then the next step after that…

What's one of your proudest moments ?

As cheesy/cliché as it may sound, being a father to my 2 young boys.

And a little bit of fun, if you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?

Roy Keane, Ally McCoist, and Steve Carell (Michael Scott version)
