Eilidh Weber - Business Development Executive (Australia)

Here is Eilidh's staff story:

You’ve been with Motive in Australia for three and half years now—how has your role evolved as you’ve helped us grow our footprint in this market?

Over the past three and a half years, my role has grown alongside Motive’s expansion in Australia. I initially focused on business development and increasing awareness of the Motive brand, but over time, my responsibilities have widened to supporting partnerships, building stronger client relationships, and helping deliver projects across the region.
As the business has continued to grow, I’ve also taken a more active role in developing our local presence, identifying new opportunities, and making sure we consistently deliver the level of service Motive is known for globally. It’s been incredibly rewarding to grow with the company and contribute to establishing Motive here in Australia.

What does a typical day at Motive look like for you?

One of the things I enjoy most about my role is that no two days are ever the same. On any given day, I might be meeting with clients, supporting active projects, responding to enquiries, coordinating with our global teams, or exploring new opportunities across the region.
Working across different time zones also keeps the role dynamic, as I regularly collaborate with colleagues in Singapore, the Middle East, and the UK.

How are Motive’s ‘boots on the ground’ in Australia helping to better support clients and projects?

Having a local presence here in Perth makes a big difference. It means we can respond quickly and be there in person when support is needed. Being on the ground also gives us a much better understanding of the local market, project timelines, and regional requirements. I believe clients really value having someone in their time zone who understands how things work locally.

Is there anything different about the industry in Australia that people outside the country might not realise?

Australia, and Perth in particular, is a very relationship-driven market. Technical capability is essential, but building trust, being consistent, and delivering on commitments is equally important.

Tell us about your experiences of relocating to/working in Australia?

Relocating to Australia has been both professionally rewarding and personally exciting. It’s allowed me to experience a different market, build new networks (both professionally and personally), and adapt to a new way of working. While there are always challenges with any relocation, the welcoming nature of people here made the transition much easier.

Tell us about some recent key projects in Australia.

We’ve been fortunate to support several exciting offshore energy projects over the past few years, from installation campaigns through to inspection, maintenance, and decommissioning work. My role has mainly focused on working closely with clients to understand their requirements, mobilising the right equipment and personnel, and ensuring delivery timelines were met.

What’s one 'uniquely Australian' tradition or habit our team has developed that makes working here special?

There’s a greater focus on work-life balance and on taking time to connect with people outside of work. Whether it’s grabbing a coffee in the morning, having a BBQ, or catching up after work, there’s a relaxed and genuine sense of camaraderie here. People work hard, but they also enjoy being part of the team, and I think that creates a positive culture.

How does it feel to be the face of Motive in the Australian market, and what’s the most rewarding feedback you hear from the local community?

It’s something I am really proud of. Representing Motive in Australia means making sure we reflect the values, service, and reputation the company is known for. The best feedback I can get is when clients or industry contacts say we’re responsive, reliable, and easy to work with.

What has been the biggest challenge in your role to date?

One of the biggest challenges has been building brand awareness and establishing a strong presence in a very competitive local industry. Breaking into any market takes time, consistency, and persistence, but seeing that progress over time has also been one of the most rewarding parts of the journey.

And your proudest moment?

One of the things I’m most proud of is seeing Motive become recognised in the Australian market. Whether it’s winning new work, being included in new opportunities, or simply hearing good feedback from clients, those moments make all the effort that’s gone into building our presence here really rewarding.

What's one 'insider tip' about Motive that you'd share with anyone considering working for the company?

Motive is the kind of company where you can really make an impact. It’s entrepreneurial, fast-paced, and supportive. People really value your contribution, so if you show up with ideas, energy, and a solid work ethic, it doesn’t go unnoticed.

What's a piece of advice you've received that really stuck with you?

“Do what you say you’re going to do.” I believe reliability and consistency are hugely important in business and in life.

What’s next for Motive in Australia and the wider APAC region, and what are you most excited about?

There is a significant opportunity ahead across Australia and the wider APAC region, particularly as offshore energy, decommissioning, and renewable sectors continue to grow. We’re focused on strengthening our local presence, expanding our service offering, and continuing to support clients with innovative solutions.

Eilidh has made an outstanding contribution to the APAC team, demonstrating resilience, professionalism, and a strong commitment to delivering results. As the inaugural lead for Motive’s Australian operations, she has represented the business with credibility and is building strong relationships with clients while working independently in a challenging environment.

This presence in Australia has provided a critical link for APAC operations, and her efforts have had a meaningful and lasting impact. Eilidh’s contribution is genuinely appreciated, and she has set a great example of what can be achieved through dedication and professionalism.
