Motive acquisition marks expansion into subsea testing technologies
Motive Offshore Group (Motive) has announced the acquisition of subsea cable monitoring and integrity technology provider, C-Kore, in a move set to enhance its global testing, inspection and certification (TIC) capabilities.
The acquisition - which is expected to increase the contribution of Motive’s Certification & Inspection division to approximately 35% of total company turnover - represents a development in the company’s strategic direction by introducing a technology-driven focus, dedicated R&D and proprietary IP.
C-Kore has developed a suite of subsea testing and measurement tools that offers significant benefits over conventional approaches in fault-finding, installation and decommissioning. Its advanced subsea testing tools offer rapid automated testing for efficient fault detection and seamless installation operations, resulting in a reduction in both vessel and personnel costs.
Active across the global cable market, and with identified potential to expand into evolving domestic and international offshore wind and decommissioning markets, C-Kore will continue to be led within Motive by existing Operations Director, Greg Smith and Sales and Marketing Director, Cynthia Pikaar from its Yorkshire headquarters, which benefits from access to a strong regional electronics and software engineering talent pool.
