Training with Motive Spooling & Inspection
Recently members from our Rentals and Engineering divisions, and Sales and BD teams attended an excellent training session on our Spooling & Inspection division.

That’s why at Motive we are focused on empowering our people through training and development opportunities, ensuring our Rentals, Engineering and Spooling & Inspection divisions operate seamlessly to enable us as a Group to deliver the best possible service for our clients.
Delivered by Spooling & Inspection Managing Director Ally Forbes, the day covered all our service capabilities, kicking off by sharing the journey of Spooling & Inspection since its launch in 2016. Motive Spooling & Inspection secured its first PO the very day after launch, filling a clear gap in the market for a niche, full-service offering. Always operating on the principles of putting clients first and being fully responsive has ensured high client retention along the way.
Growing steadily, the division has gone from strength to strength, securing a long line of framework agreements, launching a US base in Houston, and increasing from a start-up team of just 3 experts to a team of 47 to date.
The session gave valuable insight into the work scopes our Spooling & Inspection technicians perform, including LOLER, NDT, Rope Access, and Load Testing services, the range of Spooling & Inspection plant and equipment, and showcased the value of using cloud-based inspection software system Motion Kinetic out in the field.
In the afternoon attendees had the opportunity to see one of our LMA-300 machines in action and enjoyed a tour of our fully equipped workshop in Kintore, ending with a Q&A session.
A hugely worthwhile investment in time, the event has helped our wider team better understand the vital role of our multi-disciplined technicians, why the services they deliver are essential to the industry, and the procedures and work methods involved.
