Staff Stories: Craig Stevenson

Craig Stevenson - Hydraulic Chargehand

Craig worked with Motive on a part-time basis during weekends and holidays whilst still at school, and in 2013 left to join Motive as an Apprentice.

Through his part-time role with Motive, and helping at his grandfather’s garage, Craig had accumulated a wealth of technical experience by a young age.

At the time, Motive was a local, up-and-coming company and when I was offered the Apprenticeship, I saw it was a great way to combine something I loved doing, along with gaining a formal qualification.

- Craig Stevenson, Hydraulic Chargehand

On completing his apprenticeship, Craig achieved an NC in Mechanical Engineering, and moved into the role of Hydraulic Technician, soon working his way into his current position as Hydraulic Chargehand.

Craig has enjoyed travelling all over the world working as a Technician for Motive and is a qualified B1 and B3 forklift operator, telescopic handler, and overhead gantry crane operator.

Craig is a brilliant person to have on your team. His hard work and dedication are a great example to anyone. You can always rely on him to get the job done and to lend a hand wherever needed.

- Ryan Leask, Workshop Manager

Outside of work Craig enjoys working on cars and vintage tractors in his spare time.

Craig’s message to anyone considering a career with Motive?

“It really is a great company to work for, with lots of opportunities.”
