Motive Engineering completed the design and construction of a Carousel Loading Tower for valued client Swan Hunter.
This project involved a complete custom design of a modular unit to ensure onsite assembly was possible and also that the Loading Tower could be picked up in a single lift.
The first of its kind designed and fabricated by Motive, the Loading Tower was built to meet specific client requirements under a challenging fast-track design and fabrication schedule, and included:
- New-build 10Te Tensioner
- Under Bender Chute
- Height Extension Sections
- Capability of handling flexible products up to 550mm outer diameter
This ambitious project resulted in a cost-effective solution for operation in both offshore wind and offshore oil & gas markets.
During 2017 the Loading Tower was part of a flexlay spread deployed in Ghana and was operated by Motive technicians for a flexible riser and flowline installation aboard the Lewek Constellation vessel for the ENI OCTP Development Project.
