Subsea Engineer (Graduate) – Norway-based

The role is to assist in planning of onshore and offshore operation and execute operations according to Scope of Work. The purpose for this role is to secure a safe operation for Scope of Work and manage tasks for success for the operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assure the safety, legal compliance and quality of design operations within the Motive Offshore Group through the implementation and by continuous improvement of performance standards, procedures, guidance, training and workforce capability & competence
  • To assure the application of consistent, safe and legally compliant practices
  • To review, update processes and procedures as applicable
  • To establish and maintain consistent and legally compliant performance standards and guidance for the Motive group
  • Organising hire of approved subcontractors in line with control of Subcontractor Procedures
  • Production of reports as and when requested
  • Maintaining and controlling jobs and information within the Kinetic Software system
  • Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc
  • Attendance at client meetings, as well as showing company presence within client organisations, as required
  • Analyse and interpret data, manuals and other information to determine specifications and relevant inspection and test procedures
  • Demonstrate adherence to governing procedures and work instructions
  • Participate in creation/review of procedures and documentation
  • Participate in EFAT's and SIT’s
  • Planning and onshore support of offshore operation, vessel and rig
  • Participate in planning/follow-up of Mobilisation and Demob activities
  • Promote and ensure compliance to company and regulatory EHS requirements & expectations at all time
  • Promote and ensure compliance to company and regulatory Quality management systems at all times
  • Compliance with Project HSE Plan, Quality Plan and related requirements
  • Compile Final Documentation, for offshore operations
  • Identify variation in Scope of Work
  • Identifying and reporting of recognised improvement potentials
  • Participate in onshore / offshore works
  • Ensuring operatives adhere to company HSEQ guidance and procedures for the safe execution of work scopes

Key HSEQ Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Learn and abide by the Motive HSEQ integrated Management System including HSEQ Procedures and regulations that pertain to their work, and communicate their concerns to their Manager
  • Immediately report all accidents, incidents or near misses to their Manager
  • Participate in proactive HSEQ systems in place such as ICE Card and STAR Cards
  • Practice good housekeeping and minimise and segregate waste wherever possible
  • Familiarise themselves with the Emergency Procedures for their working area and to know the locations of emergency equipment and how to properly use it where applicable;
  • Not interfere with or misuse anything provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare
  • Stop the Job if they have any concerns and to immediately communicate their concerns to their Manager
  • Ensuring only approved Vendors and Subcontractors are utilised
  • Responsible for their own work and the verification of the quality of their work
  • Assist the company in its efforts towards continual improvement
  • Maintain positive communication with peers and customers

  • Degree in Engineering or relevant experience i.e. Mechanical Engineering, Marine Technology, Technical institute graduate, certificate of apprenticeship with experience
  • Preferred knowledge and experience within engineering, project planning, risk management
  • Experience from project coordination
  • Proven ability to deliver results
