Motive Offshore has a strong commitment to recruiting apprentices not least because directors James Gregg and Dave Acton both started their very successful careers as apprentices.
We realise that there is a skills shortage within our industry and are striving to do our part to reduce this. We are committed to employing apprentices to get new blood into the business and to ensure that key skills are handed down. We have a responsibility to invest in our company’s future and the future of our industry.
Our apprentices typically follow a four year structured programme:
Year 1 : Our apprentices have the opportunity to rotate within all the different engineering departments:-
• Machine Shop
• Rental Fleet
Year 2 : Assigned an engineering department, and start college (block or day release) to attain SVQ 2 Performing Engineering Operations (PEO)
Year 3 : National Certificate Manufacturing Engineering (block or day release)
Year 4 : SVQ 3 Mechanical Engineering (on the job assessment)
If you have a genuine interest and enthusiasm for engineering, and your school/college grades reflect this (ideally National 5 or equivalent in Mathematics, English and Science and/or Craft subject) we would love to hear from you.
We would encourage applicants who may have already attained their PEO or NC/HNC qualification to apply, as we may be able to offer an accelerated apprenticeship.
We also recruit Saturday workers to assist in the workshop (7am to 12noon).
We offer a Modern Apprenticeship in Business Administration which can be completed over 12 – 18 months.
We are not currently recruiting into our apprenticeship schemes at the moment.
